Making Text Boxes In Word

The reason I ask for the version is because there is a documented issue with printing graphics inserted in text boxes in a Word 2011 for Mac and a possible workaround and I wanted to check with you if that may be the issue you're facing. In Office for Mac 2011, if you click on the text box frame then right click, select edit text to alter it. To alter its format, click on the usual tools on the Home tab # 8.

There are many different ways to add interesting formatting options when you are creating documents with Microsoft Word 2007. For example, it is possible to add a box to a Word document with a few simple clicks of the mouse. You can use the box to surround text as a text box or you can use it for whatever design purposes you have for your document.

Text

Step 1

Open your Microsoft Word program and open a new document.

Step 2

Click on the 'Insert' tab at the top of the Word document.

Step 3

Find the 'Text Box' option at the top right corner of the document and click on the tiny arrow to open the formatting options.

Step 4

Scroll past the preset options presented in the next window that appears. Find the 'Draw Text Box' option at the bottom left of the window and click this option.

Step 5

Position your cursor wherever you desire the box to be in your document. Click and drag your mouse across the document to create the box. If you do not like the box you made, click the 'Undo' arrow at the top left of the page and make it again.

Leave your cursor inside the box you created and fill in color by clicking one of the box colors visible along the top left of the document. Enter text by simply typing the text desired. If you do not want to place anything in the box, reposition your cursor outside of the box and continue creating your document.
